Construction General Permit
On September 02, 2009 the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) adopted a new Construction General Permit (CGP), which affects all construction activity greater than one acre. Although we were successful in getting the board to adopt a more flexible permit then the original proposal, there are still issues, which CICWQ has brought up to be addressed. Linear Construction
Small Linear Underground/Overhead Projects disturbing at least 1 acre but less than 5 acres (including trenching and staging areas) must be covered by the Statewide General Permit for Storm Water Discharges Associated with Construction Activity from Small Linear Underground/Overhead Projects
Linear projects disturbing five or more acres of land must obtain coverage under the Construction General Permit.
Effective July 1, 2010 all linear dischargers (small and large) are required to obtain coverage under the Construction General Permit adopted on September 2, 2009.
